Megan Posey: Hey y’all! So, there is something I’ve been working on since our area was under evacuation orders for Hurricane Laura and I want to share it with you finally! So, here’s a little backstory..
I struggle with my mental health a lot, and it’s not something I post about or share, but anxiety, ocd, and depression are all battles I’m dealing with daily. SO while I was sitting in my hotel room praying to have a home to come back to I started to draw. And this drawing, it’s nothing crazy, or super fabulous. It’s just something I drew up, while watching the weather channels hurricane coverage and praying to God. You know you always hear the saying “don’t tell God how big your storm is, tell the storm how big your God is”. So I started thinking... “God you are stronger than the storm”.
The media puts out so much information prior to a hurricane and while there is a lot of truth and facts, so much of it is put out and it’s just scary. Like they make sure to use those trigger terms... “unsurvivable”, “catastrophic”, devastating... So while I was loosing my mind I started to draw and slowly ease my anxiety.
Tomorrow this design will go live on a friend of mines website. We WILL be offering shipping. And I am going to donate 100% of the proceeds to The United Way of Louisiana.
Now, let me tell you why I chose Louisiana rather than splitting the proceeds between there and Texas.
Louisiana got hit HARD. It’s not something you truly realize until you drive through it. There are still ALOT of people there without power and with trees on their homes. They need our help. We know what it feels like to be a small town hit by a big storm, and after Harvey they were right there to help. I truly feel like things are getting taken care of here in Orange and that’s why I feel like it is fair to focus all the proceeds into south west Louisiana in hopes of helping at least 1 person.
I’m sorry this is so long winded. I’m just passionate about helping people. If having a caring heart was a love language than that would be mine because I LOVE to help.
So, my goal is to sell 100 shirts. That simple. We will offer adult and children sizing. Just know that ALL PROCEEDS are being donated. I’m making zero dollars. Thank y’all so much for reading. I really hope y’all buy and share! ❤️
